At the Jac Lewis Foundation, we believe in the power of community to support mental health and well-being. That’s why we’re proud to be part of the Ty Dyffryn Well-being Group for Over 55s, a welcoming space in Ammanford where residents and the wider community can come together, connect, and take part in fun and meaningful activities.
What is Ty Dyffryn?
Ty Dyffryn is an Extra Care Scheme in Ammanford, offering fifty apartments designed to help tenants live well, age well, and stay well. More than just a place to live, Ty Dyffryn is a thriving community hub, offering activities and events that bring people together. The venue has wheelchair access and is fully accessible to all, ensuring that everyone can take part in the sessions comfortably.
When and Where Does the Group Meet?
The Ty Dyffryn Well-being Group, for people aged 55 and over, meets on the third Friday of every month, providing a friendly and inclusive space for residents and members of the local community to socialise and take part in creative activities.
Upcoming meeting dates:
- Friday, 21st March 2025
- Friday, 11th April 2025
- Friday, 23rd May 2025
A Look Back at Recent Sessions
Every month, we explore new creative projects, giving attendees the chance to learn new skills while enjoying good company.
- January’s session was all about giving a warm welcome! Participants crafted beautiful ‘Croeso’ buntings, adding a personal and decorative touch to their community space.
- February’s session celebrated Welsh heritage with hands-on creativity, as attendees made Welsh lady figures out of clay – a fun and engaging activity that sparked plenty of conversation and laughter!
